Today, on 17th May 2024, an online discussion was organized on the topic of social challenges of transgenders in the Tatva Dhan of Gender Equity Cell at Khalsa Mahavidyalaya. The discussion started with the blessings of the Principal of the college, Dr. Sunita Bokde, who in her address highlighted the need to bring transgenders in the category of equality. Dr. Dehuti Banchhor, Assistant Professor, while presenting a research paper on the study of the status of transgenders at the national and international level, made them aware of the status of transgenders from the ancient times till now. Dr. Banchhor told what challenges this community has to face in the society and what efforts are being made by the government to bring them in the category of equality. Mrs. Divya Singh gave her presentation on the topic of change in the rights of the transgender community in India. In the discussion, about 35 students and teachers of the institution actively participated online.
